BITPRO UG Meet: 19th November

BangaloreITPro User Group meeting was scheduled at 3:00pm on 19th November in the Dell Office. Both the sessions, which were presented during this meeting was new and never discussed in the User Group before. The first session was on Always On feature of SQL Server Denali (SQL Server 2012). The session was co-presented by Jisha & Gopu (from Dell R&D). The session was very informative. There were a lot of questions asked by the audiences during this session and every question was answered. There was a demo on configuring the Always On feature.

The second session was on System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2012 By Ismail Mohammed. It was a new topic for most of us. I had attended Ismail’s session earlier on BITPRO and this was the second time, I was attending his session. As most of us are new to SCVMM as a product, Ismail described us about its features, different versions which were released, and how its going to help while building a Private cloud. Some of my colleagues, who are very much excited about Cloud, found this session very helpful.

After both the sessions were completed, our UG Lead Kaliyan asked us about the topics/sessions, we want to attend in future. There were a lot of request about conducting a Workshop, Building Private Cloud demo, SCCM/SCOM, IIS. We had also discussed about Windows 8 Developer Platform Review and some expected feature (like Client-side hypervisor support).
